Obituary Zeak Woodrow Sheffield age 94, a longtime Lane area resident, was born on January 4, 1917, to William and Alice (Tigert) Sheffield, at Bogota, Tx. Zeak passed away on June 27, 2011, at Atoka, Ok. He attended Harmony School. Zeak worked road maintenance for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for Atoka County. He served his country in the Army in the 44th Tank Battalion and was a sharpshooter during WWII. Zeak received a good conduct medal, bronze service arrowhead and Philippine liberation ribbon with two stars.He married Voda (Crain) on November 2, 1946 at Ukiah, Ca. Zeak was a member of the Lane Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing, and spending time with his family. Zeak is survived by his wife, Voda (Crain) Sheffield of the home in Lane, Ok.; children, Sam Crain of Lane, Ok., Carol Clemens and husband Garry of Coalgate, Ok., Norma Burk and husband Howard of Justin, Tx., Kenneth Sheffield and wife Bobbie of Ferris, Tx., Phyllis Ridgeway of Justin, Tx., Donna Berry and husband Cliff of Harmony, Ok., Troy Sheffield of Lane, Ok., Darrin Sheffield and wife Lisa of Ada, Ok.;23 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Zeak was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alice (Tigert) Sheffield; grandchildren, Stephen Sullivan & Catrina Gayle Ridgeway; great grandchild, Matthew Valenzuela; siblings, Callie Latimer, Mary Mead, Edna Mead, Alma Bomesberger, Faye Faulkenberry, Ruth Crews, Leonard Sheffield, Jess Sheffield, Ray Sheffield, Jewell Sheffield, Arthur Sheffield; daughter-in-law, LaJuana Crain. ****************************************************************************** DATE OF SERVICES: Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 10am PLACE OF SERVICES: Lane Baptist Church INTERMENT: Butler Cemetery OFFICIATING: Bro.
